R-ION Application Examples

These examples are provided to demonstrate the versatility of the R-ION Individual Room Control product range. The list is by no means conclusive.

 

 

 

F-1

FAN COIL UNIT CONTROL

Room control for heating and cooling with a fan coil unit. Automatic closing of the control valves if the window is open. Room temperature measurement integrated in wall-module.

RS485 Modbus/BACnet comms to supervisory system (BMS).

Inputs
- 1 x voltage-free digital input for window contact
- 1 x voltage-free digital input for occupancy input

Outputs
- 3 x relay for 3-level fans, AC 230 V, max 400 VA
- 4 x triac for heating/cooling valves
   (thermoelectric on/off, PWM or motorized floating actuators)

Option
- 2 x 0-10 Vdc for modulating valves
- Auxillary 24 Vac power output for valve/damper actuators

FAN COIL UNIT CONTROL - WIRELESS

Same functionality as above (F-1), but with IEEE 802.11b wireless IP connectivity (WIFI).

Provides direct IP connection to supervisory system (BMS) using Sox protocol or BACnet IP.

VAV CONTROL

PHYSICAL I/O - WIRELESS

Room control for heating and cooling with a pressure independent VAV box. Room temperature measurement integrated in wall-module.

Direct wireless IP connection (IEEE 802.11b WIFI) to supervisory system (BMS) using Sox protocol or BACnet IP.

Inputs
- 1 x voltage-free digital input for window contact
- 1 x voltage-free digital input for occupancy input

Outputs
- 1 x 0-10 Vdc control output for VAV controller
- 1 x relay for electric heating coil, AC 230 V, max. 2000 W
- 2 x triac for reheat valves (thermoelectric on/off, PWM or motorized floating actuators)

Option
- Auxillary 24 Vac power output for VAV controller / damper actuator

VAV CONTROL

BELIMO MP-BUS

Room control for heating and cooling with pressure independent VAV boxes equipped with Belimo MP-Bus capable controllers. Room temperature measurement integrated in wall-module.

RS485 Modbus/BACnet comms to supervisory system (BMS).

Inputs
- 1 x voltage-free digital input for window contact
- 1 x voltage-free digital input for occupancy input

Outputs
- 1 x relay for electric heating coil, AC 230 V, max. 2000 W
- 2 x triac for reheat valves (thermoelectric on/off, PWM or motorized floating actuators)
